Nigerians have always been indifferent to some happenings in the country because they believe that displaying their concern changes nothing. But as can be observed from parents and students across the country, there is too much outcry for reopening of schools after several months of closure as a result of COVID-19. While hope began to mount for reopening the schools when some states governments fixed date for resumption, the recent statement from the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu demoralised Nigerians because such statement is a signal that schools will not reopen and WAEC exams too will not hold this year in the country. This, respectfully, is a rash decision putting in mind the fate of education in Nigeria and the legion contradictions here and there about the virus.
